The outcomeFull migration completed to deadline; trusted data flowing into Databricks with enhanced analytics capability for analysts.
Client Situation
- Under tight timeframes resulting from end-of-life of Google Universal Analytics, our client engaged Loop Horizon to assist with the transition to GA4 based reporting and subsequent migration of their GA4 data into Databricks, their core customer data environment.
- This would allow consolidation of all core customer data sources to be integrated into one environment to enable comprehensive analytics.
Our Contribution
- Data Model Design (BigQuery): captured extensive stakeholder requirements to inform data model design. Produced data model design for BigQuery environment for prototype report building, including alignment between new and old digital data sets.
- Supported development: development of transformations and code reviews with data engineering squads. Provided second- and third-line support for issue resolution including managing an extensive library of Google bugs.
- Attribution Models: led development of data processing for attribution modelling.
- Data Model Design (Databricks): designed the source ingest solution, and translated data model for Databricks along with transformations required to deliver Silver data tables in Databricks.
Results
- Trusted, high-quality and timely data: downstream users have greater trust in the digital data products, thanks to more reliable, consistent data.
- Enhanced Analytics: analysts are now able to integrate GA4 with other datasets (e.g. CRM, transactional), providing richer insight into customer behaviour.
